Bio - Ethan Field Williams

Ethan Williams is a seasoned abstractionist utilizing oils, acrylics, mixed media and resin glass. He is a pioneer in resin applications with pieces that move beyond surface coverage to become multi-dimensional works of art. Specializing in modern action painting, mixed media and resin sculpting, Williams is an emerging artist on the New York stage. Many have drawn lines between his work and that of masters like Jackson Pollock, Franz Kline and Armand Pierre Arman. He has taken abstraction to a new, three-dimensional level by applying multiple layers of resin to create truly captivating and reflective masterpieces. Williams' designs stack more than 20 layers of worked surfaces; allowing viewers to peer directly into a layered world of pigment, light and found objects. Each piece is a uniquely crafted and links to a theme or concept from the artists life.

Williams lives and works in New York where he hones his skills at the Art Students League of New York in Manhattan. He produces the majority of his work from his studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
